Tamari Sesame Salmon
This delicious salmon recipe is bursting with flavor and packed with essential nutrients. Rich in vitamin D, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids, salmon is a nutritional powerhouse known for its benefits to the immune system and overall well-being.
Ingredients
(Serves 4)
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons wheat-free tamari
1 tablespoon honey
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1 pound skinless salmon filets (preferably wild salmon)
2 scallions, thinly sliced
Directions
Whisk together rice wine vinegar, tamari, honey, and garlic powder in a small mixing bowl until well combined. This will be your glaze for the salmon.
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a large plate. Pour the glaze over the salmon, coating each fillet evenly. Allow the salmon to marinate for at least 15 minutes, or for more flavor, up to 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Heat the toasted sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the salmon fillets into the skillet, skin side down if there's skin. Cook the salmon for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it is caramelized and cooked through. Use a spatula to gently flip the fillets halfway through cooking. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your salmon fillets.
Once the salmon is cooked through and caramelized on both sides, transfer it to a serving platter. Sprinkle the sliced scallions over the top of the salmon fillets. You can also sprinkle some sesame seeds for added texture and nuttiness. Serve the sesame-glazed salmon hot, accompanied by cooked rice or steamed vegetables, for a complete and nutritious meal.
Enjoy!
